Points Rummy on GoRummy.com is played between players in the range of 2 to 6 typically with 2 or more packs of 53 cards each (53 is including one printed joker per pack).

Players deal for points which reflects a pre-decided rupee value.

Each player must have a minimum amount to play.

Each player is offered with a set of 13 cards randomly.

First card from the pack is included in the open deck signaling that the game has begun.

Rest of the cards are placed face-down in the closed deck.

A joker card or wild card is chosen at the start of each game.

Printed Joker: If a printed joker is chosen as joker for a game, then players can prefer an Ace card of all the suits as a joker when forming sets and / or sequences.

Objective: Set all 13 cards available in hand in sequences and/or sets.

Each player either picks/discards a card from closed/open deck to arrange sets and/or sequences.

Players are free to use one or more jokers to arrange sets and/or sequences.

You can place a card to the finish slot to show your sets and sequences after declaring a show.

To show cards, the corresponding player must display cards available in hand by grouping them in sets/sequences and clicking on ‘Declare’ button.

Mandatory: To conclude the game, you must contain at least two sequences, one of which is a pure sequence.

How the points are earned in 13 Card Points Rummy?

Declaring the winner : The first player who meets the objective of the game is declared as the winner. He/She will be awarded 0 points.

If a single player or more players drop the game during their first move, they secure 10 points each and the game progresses till a single winner emerges.

If a single player or more players drop the game after their first move, they are awarded 30 points each and the game leads to the emergence of a single winner.

If a player declares without meeting the game objective, he/she obtains 80 points and the game continues till a winner has been announced.

Points declaration for the player who loses:

Each card reflects certain number of points. The player who loses will receive points equal to his/her hand score which is calculated as given below:

Face cards like J, Q, K, A of every suit are valued 10 points each.

Rest of the numbered cards reflect the same points as their face value e.g. 7 reflects 7 points and 3 reflects 3 points.

Joker cards contain zero points.

After the completion of each game, a losing player’s hand score is calculated by adding points for cards that are not arranged as sets/sequences with the below mentioned exceptions.

If the player lost could not show a pure sequence, then all the cards are included in the count.

If the player lost could not display two sequences, but has got a pure sequence, only the pure sequence is taken into consideration.

A player can obtain a total of 80 points. For example, if a player’s hand score is 105 he/she will still receive only 80 points. But if a player’s hand score is 55, he/she will obtain 55 points.

Deal Show: If the lost player has not used up his first turn before the other player has ensured a valid declaration, then:

The losing player receives points equal to half of his/her hand score. For instance, if the hand score for the lost player is 30 points, then the player is awarded 15 points as his score.

The minimum number of points a player lost can secure in this context is 2 (for scores 2, 3, 4, & 5).

The maximum points for a player lost in this context is 40 (for scores 80 or more).

Special Case: If a player misses out playing on 3 consecutive turns, he/she is dropped automatically from the game. This implies that this player receives a middle drop score of 30 points.

What are the Optimum Points a Player gets awarded?

A player can receives up to 80 points maximum after losing. This implies that whether the player holding higher value cards or not, the points are rounded off to 80.

Any score that is below 80 is displayed intact.
